Where exactly do you buy guns in the United States?
I have been wondering, being australian and having very, very strict gun laws, how easy it is to buy a gun in the United States. Where do you find them? Can you go to any store, or are there gun stores which you have to get them from. Is it as simple as filling out a form? Or do you have to apply for a gun license? And also, what types of guns can you get? Assault rifles and LMGs, or just handguns?
In Australia there are only like 2 gun stores that I have ever seen and in there you can only buy .22 Air rifles and 9mm handguns and you have to apply for a gun license which makes you swear that you will only use your gun for hunting, and you have to have specific security measures taken in your home to make sure it is not stolen, such as putting it in a combination safe.
Plenty of Gun stores,and of course Wal Mart.Where you will need to fill out a form,show ID,and have a backround check done before you can take posession of the firearm.You will need to be 18 for Rifles,Shotguns or Assault Rifles and 21 for any handgun purchase(Which can be anything from a .22 to a Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum)
The types of Rifles(”Assault Weapons”),may depend on whether you live in a State that still supports the Right of the Citizenry to “Keep and Bear Arms” (Texas),or in a State that has been steadily trying to remove the Rights of the Citizenry to protect and defend themselves for decades(California)
There is also a method for obtaining some fully automatic weapons,with the proper licensing.However they will be extremely expensive due to the Federal Govt artificially limiting the availability by banning all future manufacture or importation of automatic weapons years ago.So basically they left the Right “intact” with proper licensing,then made sure you can’t get one because there are no more coming on the market than what is currently available.
